With an almost fully-grown beard, sweat drenched clothes, and large rings under my eyes; I can officially say Week 1 is over. What a week. We had some problems, scratch that, we had a fuck load of problems – but that being said, the footage is great, the performances were great, the help and support was great, and the make up was fucking awesome (everyone involved in burying Troy and tying up Kaela can agree).
Obviously being the first week, a lot was learnt, and the schedule had to be changed and adjusted. Not enough time has been accounted for preparation of scenes, set-ups and make up – so over the weekend expect some changes in your email box. Although Week 1 was mostly a success, it was a real eye-opener to some of the problems that could/did occur, but at the same time I had a blast – and I hope everyone who joined in had one as well.
Photos taken from over the week, stills and behind the scenes, will be uploaded today once David gets to my place and gives them to me (probably for a price! >_<) so stay tuned for those.
I want to thank everyone individually, but I think I’ll wait for the next two weeks to pass before I start doing that. Equipment check! The P2 is damaged, a hard drive got fried, my Mac’s screen got warped, we lost some important cables (but found them again), we bought too much cup-a-noodles (and way too much Ham) and we lost almost a day of shooting because an armourer decided to fly to Norway with his delorean. We did lose a day of shooting because somebody dropped out. We also almost blew up Jakob, he was happy!
So, until Monday, I will say adieu and collapse in a heap on my bed. Home sweet home. Bed sweet bed.
Keep in tune for the photos…
See some of you on Monday.
Nathaniel

Just a little update, considering I am going to see most of you at the meeting on Sunday. Here are a few tests shots of the United Star mask. I’ve uploaded them to the Voluspa Gallery (click the image above to get sent right there). Tell us what you think.

Just a small update. We have a new selection of pictures from the last week in our Voluspa Gallery. I’ve been working on a few things here and there whilst the rest of the crew organize other things. We have built the Interior of the helicopter, which has yet to be decorated but stands in its skeleton shape in Frankston.
I also learnt how to Tie Dye, meaning I went out and found all the ingredients and started experimenting with it. You’ll have to wait to see the film for the finished result. Rick is busy moulding, or so he has led me to believe, and David should be in contact with you all getting the schedule up and running. As soon as I get an OK from David and Rick, and we have made sure everyone is onboard, then we are ready to go.
I hope that everyone on board has taken this (vast) amount of time to reflect on their character and bring something unique and off the page to the table. I hope to see what you have all done with the character given to you to learn when we meet (hopefully) shortly.

Hey all.
It’s been a while since we have had an update, and that is mainly because we have been working hard to prepare for the film. We are at about 90% ready however, and are just waiting on some last minute prop purchases and item moulds. At the end of this month, or beginning of next we will have a meeting to go through everything and touch base. David should be getting in contact with you all and getting the Schedule finally finished and out. Once everything is done, and the Schedule is out then we will be on our way with filming (finally).
Just a last minute query. There is a ‘flashback’ sequence that takes place in a kitchen with Zachariah’s mother. We need an older looking, open kitchen with older appliances etc. to do this scene, and we have been unsuccessful in finding one. If anyone has, or knows of a location that can be used over a half day of shooting, please let us know. That would be great.
Otherwise, we will be in touch soon.

This is Nathaniel reporting in. Just letting everyone know what is currently underway. Costumes and props are mostly counted for now, we are waiting on some enemy masks and some more weapons to come in and then we will be ready to begin scheduling content to be filmed.
We will be filming scenes out of order as of the moment, starting with the non-combat scenes that do not take place in the jungle. Generally, it will be weekend shoots with small crews until we have most of them taken care of. Following that we will be filming the remaining jungle scenes in one or two blocks over one or two weeks, back to back. At the moment, non-combat scenes will most likely be shot in October, whilst combat scenes will most likely be filmed in November. Although, do not hold me on that until the schedules get released officially and we are in contact with everyone.
Before we shoot, we will have a run-through and an official meeting, and an email will be sent out for when and where. We also need to conduct some publicity character shots. Please contact us personally if you need anything in advance.
Keeping in touch,
Nathaniel Iwaszko

Ladies and gents, introducing you to the new Niflheim website: www.VoluspaProject.com it’s been updated to reflect the changes in the project, and the extended universe which is being worked on side by side with Niflheim. It’s still fresh, and in it’s beta stage of development so if you have any crits, let us know.
It is for large screens and at least broadband, everyone has that now right?

The guns the cast will be using in Niflheim for days the armourer is not available will be BLUEGUNS ™ which are 75% real weight and 100% real scale, calibration and detail.
Except for a few exceptions (such as Kenneth and the Enemy soldiers) the gun used will be the Colt AR 15 A2, a semi-automatic rifle patterned after the M16.
More information on the AR 15 can be found here.

Other guns used on the film will be the Styr F88 and the P90.
They are being purchased from a local distributor.

Hello all. Nathaniel here. Back in Melbourne and ready to get the ball rolling again. A lot of you are probably wondering what has happened to the project – well it entered a short hiatus due to a range of reasons, and now we are ready to start picking up the pieces but we need some extra hands. We will be looking for a few volunteers to work as assistants and general helpers on the film set and for behind the scenes work, if you’re interested (Melbournians only at the moment please) please drop me a line at secrettruth@gmail.com or Nathaniel.iwaszko@gmail.com.
Over the next week I will be contacting the cast of the film one by one to check their status and schedules. If you would like to email me beforehand you are welcome to. I apologize in advance for the inconvenience so far, and I hope you are as enthusiastic as I am about continuing our journey and finishing this film.
I will be speaking to you all shortly,
Nathaniel Iwaszko

Nathaniel here…
Okay, I don’t know what is going on, but apparently the world is ending over in Melbourne at our production office. I did send an email out to everyone before I left the country and assumed it was okay. This is a reminder that everything is A OK and I am very much alive and so is this project. My production assistant should be informing everyone of my (very much) alive status, but I am not sure if that has happened (and that coupled with the possible failure of the emails I have been sending has obviously put everyone into a tight spot concerning the project, which I apologize for).
I will be back in the country in under two weeks, at which point everything will begin rolling at light speed, so please send me an email at the still very active Secrettruth@gmail.com or Nathaniel.Iwaszko@gmail.com if you would like to speak to me urgently, as my phone (for some reason) won’t allow me to take calls from Australia at the moment.
We are still aiming for the Sept. – Oct. shoot, and unlike previous concerns with permits and restrictions, it has been ironed out and we are (very close) to ready.
Anyway, take it easy, and let me know (asap) if your details concerning the projects, dates, or anything else changes. Thank you
You’re apparently elusive director,
Nathaniel Iwaszko
